Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBCs) are cube-shaped containers designed to be pallet-friendly, allowing for easy movement with a pallet jack or forklift, facilitating placement in trucks, racks, or railroad wagons. They earn their "intermediate" classification due to their size, falling between standard drums and larger tanks.
Constructed from durable high-density polyethylene (HDPE), IBC tanks are available in both white and transparent variations. These tanks are encased in a sturdy galvanized metal cage, securely fastened to a pallet for effortless transportation and handling. While some IBC bins are designed for single-use purposes, the majority are reusable, with their lifespan determined by the materials they handle and the conditions of use.
One of the key attributes contributing to the widespread adoption of IBCs as a shipping solution is their remarkable adaptability. In addition to coming in various sizes, they can be crafted from a diverse range of materials. Certain types even offer the convenience of foldability, enabling compact storage when not in active use.
